Dementia Education for Enhanced Customer Service

An educational breakfast meeting sponsored by Loomis Village

Of the approximately 5.3 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia, it is estimated that 70% live independently in the community.  Of those individuals, approximately 30% live alone.  They are among our customers, neighbors and family members and they visit the bank, the grocery and retail stores, and restaurants.

With a goal of helping your business better serve these individuals and their families, the Dementia Friendly Communities Coalition is offering a short educational program for businesses and their front line workers.  Communication tips and greater awareness of the issues will help assure that these customers feel welcome and are well served. This 50 minute presentation will be led by Rachel E. Tierney, RN, PhD.

Organized by the Dementia Friendly Communities, a coalition that includes The Alzheimer’s Association, WestMass ElderCare, the South Hadley Council on Aging, The Loomis Communities and other organizations across the region that serve older adults.
