The Annual Meeting of the South Hadley & Granby Chamber of Commerce will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd at the Willits-Hallowell Center.
The town charter of Granby was signed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on June 11, 1768. We celebrate this historical event every year on the second full weekend in June (as close to the original date as possible!) 2018 marks our 250th celebration, and we are planing events throughout the year to help celebrate this wonderful mile stone of our small town.
Holyoke Medical Center will be hosting a free Diabetes Wellness Fair on Wednesday, November 15 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the HMC Auxiliary Conference Center. This event is free and open to the public.
With a goal of helping your business better serve these individuals and their families, the Dementia Friendly Communities Coalition is offering a short educational program for businesses and their front line workers. Communication tips and greater awareness of the issues will help assure that these customers feel welcome and are well served. This 50 minute presentation will be led by Rachel E. Tierney, RN, PhD.
LITS’ speaker series on information and technology issues affecting society at large continues next month with a lecture by Claire Wardle, “Hoaxes, memes & bots: Learning how to navigate our polluted information streams.”

Speaker: Paulina Borrego is a Science & Engineering Librarian at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Soon after becoming a librarian in 2007 she took on the role of the Patent & Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) Librarian in 2009. She is trained by the USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office) to educate patrons about patents and trademarks, the application process, and how to conduct an effective and thorough search. She works in the UMass Amherst Science & Engineering Library which is open to the public.
The Granby Preservation Society will be hosting the Kellogg Hall Flea Market Fundraiser behind Kellogg Hall, 250 State Street, Granby, in the parking lot Saturday, Sept. 9.
